Actually the opposite — EV brakes typically last longer than those on gas vehicles. Because regenerative braking handles most of the slowing in normal driving, the physical brake pads and rotors are used much less frequently.
Many EV owners report their brake pads lasting 100,000+ miles. The tradeoff is that brake rotors can sometimes develop surface rust from infrequent use, which is why periodic inspection is still recommended even when the pads show little wear.
