Jaguar

Jaguar is a British luxury automaker with a heritage dating to 1935, headquartered in Coventry, England, and owned by Tata Motors of India. Long associated with elegant design, sporting performance, and a distinctly British character, Jaguar is undergoing one of the most dramatic reinventions in automotive history.

Jaguar’s current electric vehicle offering centers on the I-PACE — launched in 2018 and one of the first genuine luxury BEVs to challenge Tesla directly. The I-PACE won multiple car of the year awards and established Jaguar as a serious electric vehicle contender in the premium segment.

However Jaguar’s most significant move is yet to come. The brand has announced a complete reinvention — discontinuing its entire existing lineup and relaunching as an all-electric ultra-luxury brand with a significantly higher price positioning. The new Jaguar, previewed by the dramatic Type 00 concept in 2024, aims to compete with Bentley and Ferrari rather than BMW and Mercedes-Benz. This makes Jaguar one of the boldest bets in the automotive industry — essentially starting over as a new brand built entirely around electric vehicles.

Jaguar vehicles are sold through authorized dealerships in the US. The brand’s transition period makes it a fascinating watch for anyone interested in the future direction of luxury electric vehicles.
