if I could afford it, I would be very interested in owning the BMW i3 which will get and alleged 100 miles on a charge and the upgraded model has a 2 gallon reserve gas tank for when you need to travel further than you can on a charge....but that starts at $45,000 And honestly, I ain't as impressed with the interior. (Except that it did have a sun roof!! That would be nice to have!)
i would definitely purchase again. I just wish I would have splurged and gotten the safety packages (front and back view cameras) and GPS. I purchased the base model to keep the monthly payment down. I also bought a dealer loaner car, so while it was classified as new, it came to me used with 2,000 miles, but the dealer discounted the car to where I could afford it. (Basically, taking the $7,000 tax incentive off the sale price since they were the ones who would receive the rebate. It worked for me, since I would not have to finance that extra amount and then wait to get it back in a few months at tax time.)
Before the Volt, I owned A Prius and averaged 52 mpg. I loved my Prius, but I definitely prefer my Volt!
Good ode luck with your decision. When I researched the Volt, I don't think I ever came across an unhappy owner review.....(or at least not that I remember. Lol. )

if you do additional research you'll find that in every survey, Volt owners overwhelmingly love their cars. That's not a fluke. Had this car been marketed aggressively it would have been a huge home run for GM.
nefore I bought the 2014, I checked out the competition. The Ford models don't even come close, the Prius had to be the most boring car I ever drove and having previously owned Lexus hybrids I already knew what they were. The only car that impressed me was the Tesla. But when you weigh the value for the money equation you simply can't beat the Volt.

I have averaged 87 Mpge over those two years, while having the most fun driving since I got my license 40 years ago.
My lease is up next year- hoping to get a 2016 Volt II when released in summer of 2015...
