I have 19" wheels and air suspension in my car. I have also driven 19" wheel car w/o air suspension.
I do notice a little softer ride with the air vs standard suspension. The car still feels good with the standard suspension. When going over rough road with air suspension is it softer and a little quieter. I have also driven car with air suspension and 21" wheels -- there is a bigger difference (better, softer) with the air vs standard suspension.
One other important reason that I chose the air suspension on my car was to enter my driveway without scraping. All cars (except SUVs) scrape coming into my driveway (slight upward slanting slope with a dip for the gutter before the driveway cutout to the street). I slow down <20mph as I approach my driveway, select the "high" setting for the air suspension, and by the time I get to my driveway the car completes the raising up to "high" and I enter my driveway w/o scraping.
I have never needed to raise the car to go over speed bumps in parking lots, since the car is not that low...
